Here it is September already. Where does the time go? Seems like only a short time ago that lane was getting her garden ready to plant. Now the garden plants are on their last legs. Summer is going to be gone before we know what hit us. Autumn starts September twenty second and then its no time to winter but lane says she won’t complain cause she’s been blessed this year with an abundance of everything it seems. Here is an example of her garden bounty. So far lane has canned; fifty quarts of tomatoes, twelve quarts of tomato juice, thirty pints of salsa, twelve quarts of spaghetti sauce, thirty eight pints of squash relish, fifteen pints of pickled beets, twenty one pints of applesauce and seven pints of peach jam. Lane says she’s also given away at least two bushels of tomatoes along with squash, zucchini, cucumbers, green beans, corn and cabbage. It truly has been a good summer and now its time for lane to rest for a while before the fall crops come in. oh well, here we go again. Thank goodness says lane.
