Final post in the greenhouse series will be this one about the solar food dryer a friend and I made in his shop. The plan was a sketch emailed by another friend and served as the starter.

The one with the shop and tools and scraps of many sizes of plywood and such, spoke of wanting to do such an item.

It took two of us about ten or so hours. He cut and I assembled. We both painted. The bottom part is divided in half thru the center with old five v crimp roofing painted black. There are holes on one end for air supply with screen inside for insect prevention.

The top is mounted over the other end with full space for heated air to rise. The shelves have vinyl screen held in place in grooves kerfed into the bottom of the frame. The same grooved rubber rope holds the screen in this groove as it does in screen doors.

The top has more holes with screen on the inside for more insect prevention. the front panel slides up or down for access.
