Here we are at the end of November and thanksgiving is almost here.

We’ve had two small snows already in November. Lane hopes this isn’t the trend cause she does hate snow; any snow. She didn’t always hate winter and snow; just lately. When lane was a kid she and her brother loved the snow cause they wouldn’t have any school and they wouldn’t have to get up as early and they could spend the whole day hiking in the woods. She remembers looking out and seeing a big snow and yelling oh boy. Then she would go wake up her brother Wayne and get him out of bed, take off and go next door to her grannies house crawl in behind the wood cook stove and wait on breakfast. Lane’s granny always made the best biscuits and gravy she has ever had. They would eat and then take off to the woods. They would stay gone till dark just walking thru the woods in the snow. She wonders if her parents ever wondered about them being gone like that. She guesses they didn’t cause they didn’t say anything when they got home. Now that she’s a little older she doesn’t like the snow or the cold. She guesses that’s because she has to be out in to deliver your mail. Sometimes she wishes she could look out the window, see a big snow, yell oh boy, crawl back into bed, go back to sleep and not worry about being out in the weather but she’s not that lucky. You know what the motto is at the post office; neither snow nor rain, sleet or hail can keep us from our appointed rounds or something like that; So anyway happy thanksgiving.
