Today is December tenth with just two weeks till Christmas.

Time sure does seem to fly these days, especially since lane has hit fifty she says. All of her life she has heard people talk about the time seeming to fly by. Until recently lane didn’t know what they were talking about. Lane says she knows now and they were right. When you’re a little kid it seems like time just drags by. School seems to last forever and it seems like Christmas will never come but then we grow up and live our lives. There never seems to be enough time for doing all the things we really want to do like spending more time with family and friends. Before we know it will be time again to start our vegetable gardens and lane speaks of how she looks forward to getting her hands dirty.

Already seed catalogs are arriving in the mail and now is a good time to take thirty minutes to take time to look at these catalogs and make plans for spring. Lane has a notebook where she lists plants and seeds that she wants to grow next spring. She also keeps a journal of her gardens good and bad experiences from year to year. This helps her to know what plants and seeds did well and which didn’t.

This way if something didn’t work out she can try something different next year so while its cold outside relax with a cup of tea or hot chocolate and a good seed catalog by the fire. And remember that time does fly and it will be spring again before we know it.
